- Alwyn Pickard Review added: 2018.09.14★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I have dined at The Coach House a few times and have always been satisfied with the food and service but on Sunday a group of us, including two young children, went for afternoon tea. The experience was awful.
There was sixteen small finger sandwiches, two mouthfuls each, and the bread was not that fresh. The cakes were cut into small squares and were no different from the cakes you can buy at any supermarket. The only decent fare were the scones but even then the jam was in small pots that are given you at the breakfast tables of many hotel groups.
There was no china, the tea came with teabags on a string and the filter coffee was just about warm. There was only a choice of four sandwich fillings and we had to ask what they were. The service barely qualified for the use of that word That will be £132 , sir and that was for five adults and two children aged four and seven. No thank you Michael we will not be returning in any hurry.
